Senior Marine Engineer

Our client is looking to fill a position for a Chartered or near Chartered Engineer with experience in the Civil Engineering industry. The candidate will play a key role in supporting both their Marine and Civil Engineering teams on various projects within the ports, highways, flood defence, energy, and heritage sectors.

Ideally, candidates should possess a master’s degree that is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers. However, our client can provide assistance and guidance to help candidates attain a Chartered status through their approved ICE training Scheme.

  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to produce high-quality reports
  • Proficiency in coordinating and delivering design drawings to clients
  • Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior Engineers
  • Technical design expertise using British, European, and International standards

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Designing Civil Engineering structures
  • Managing small to medium design projects from start to finish
  • Ensuring compliance of project-related documentation with business management systems
  • Mentoring junior Engineers and graduates
  • Collaborating with Directors and clients on project matters
  • Leading the development of fee proposals
  • Monitoring projects to meet deadlines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards
  • Providing monthly reports and fee forecasts

  • Prioritizing the professional development of oneself and mentees
  • Participation in community initiatives and technical charity work organized by the company
